Legal / Persona licence

Premium Persona Licence.

A clear line between using specialist perspectives in your work and redistributing the library itself.

Last updated: 16 September 2026

What the subscription includes

An active subscription gives each allocated person access to the complete Premium Persona Pack, new and modified personas released during the subscription, supported downloads, and the subscriber request route for suggesting new personas. Personas are working perspectives, not professional advice or a substitute for accountable review.

Individual subscriptions

An individual subscription is for one named person. That person may activate the pack on up to three machines they use. When the subscription ends, they may continue using the last version legitimately downloaded and installed for their own, employer’s or client work, but they stop receiving updates, hosted downloads, new personas and subscriber services.

You may keep a private backup of that legitimately acquired version and restore it for your own permitted use, including on a replacement machine, within the three-machine limit. This does not grant access to later releases or permit bypassing technical protections. Contact support if a replacement or reinstallation needs licence assistance.

Team subscriptions

A team subscription provides the number of named seats shown at purchase. A team administrator may allocate and reassign seats for genuine personnel changes, not rotate a seat between concurrent users. Each assignee receives their own licence key and may use up to three machines. The purchaser must make these licence conditions available to assignees.

When a team subscription ends, or a seat is revoked, that person’s right to use the premium pack ends. They must stop using it and remove working copies from devices, shared storage and AI-tool uploads. Private backups that cannot reasonably be selectively deleted must be put beyond use until normal expiry and must not be restored for use without a current licence. Supported EWAI tooling may remove its managed premium cache after entitlement check-in, but that does not remove copies held elsewhere. A person’s separately created project personas are not part of the pack and remain theirs.

Downloads and keys

Keys are personal to the allocated user and mustn’t be shared. Short-lived download links may be used to obtain the pack for supported tools such as Claude or Gemini. Machine names, installation identifiers, and check-in records are processed to verify the licence and three-machine limit. If a machine is replaced, use the account or support route to revoke or reassign it.

What you may do

  • Use allocated personas for your own, employer’s and client work, including commercial projects.
  • Install the pack through supported EWAI tooling or use a permitted copy in a compatible AI account you are authorised to use. Keep access limited to licensed people and use settings that do not expose the library publicly or permit it to train a third-party general-purpose model.
  • Adapt prompts and working methods for the task, and create your own separate project personas.
  • Use and share the resulting analysis and project deliverables with colleagues and clients. We do not claim ownership of your work merely because you used a persona. Do not include the pack or substantial persona text in a deliverable as a way to redistribute it.

What you may not do

  • Share keys, seats, or pack files outside the allocated users.
  • Publish, resell, sublicense, mirror, or distribute the collection or substantial extracts.
  • Use the pack to build or train a competing persona library, dataset, or product.
  • Remove notices, evade checks, impersonate another subscriber, or exceed machine or seat limits.

Ownership, suspension, and support

Backstory Group Limited and identified contributors retain all rights in the premium library. We may suspend a key where there is reasonable evidence of compromise, unlawful use, or material breach, and will provide a route to resolve mistakes. For help, contact hello@backstorygroup.co.uk.
